American Farmland Trust

Innovative Resources provided counsel on a special advocacy effort on a collaborative effort with Scenic Hudson, the Open Space Institute, the Dyson Foundation, and several other key granters interested in increased support for working farmland protection from major individual donors and support from state and federal government grant initiatives. This effort resulted in a publication called “Saving Working Farmlands: A Campaign for Hudson Valley Farms”, featuring the photography of James Bleecker.

Innovative Resources Group was also retained to design specific advocacy publications and annual reports. "Protecting Farms for New York's Future" and "Taking Action to Protect Farmland in New York" use stunning photographs and imaginative design to portray the work of AFT in promoting environmentally sound land stewardship.

AFT works with federal, state and local communities to develop legislation, implement policies and execute programs to keep farmers on their land and protect the environment. AFT in New York State strengthens rural economies and jobs; protects drinking water quality and scenic, working landscapes, and insures farmers can produce fresh, healthy food for New Yorkers.

Founded in 1980 by a group of farmers, ranchers and conservationists concerned about the rapid loss of the nation's farmland to development, American Farmland Trust (AFT) is dedicated to protecting the nation's strategic agricultural resources.
