We helped this team of capital defense investigators articulate their mission and kickstart their digital philanthropy.
Client
Community Resource Initiative (CRI) is a San Francisco–based nonprofit capital defense investigation office that works with legal teams to bring the stories of its clients lives into the courtroom. It is also a resource center for individuals, families, and the communities impacted by incarceration and death penalty prosecutions.
Challenge
CRI’s mitigation work for clients had been funded through the courts, but the organization’s far-reaching activities in the community (from reading programs to providing resources for food and housing needs) for affected families and individuals required funding from other sources. It needed to broaden awareness of its mission and to raise dollars for community programs and core capacity.
Our Solution
Innovative Resources helped CRI create and articulate their mission and activities through both a print and digital prospectus for potential supporters, but also through the creation of a new website that contained an expanded giving platform. We worked with them to develop an Engagement Team of volunteer leaders to help share the message that CRI is an organization worthy of support.
Impact
CRI has thus far experienced a ten-fold increase in philanthropy and has greatly increased awareness of its work through its outreach materials and more dynamic and effective website.
